It was during his tenure as a deckhand that he learned about Moonshine.

In 1978, Craig began a career in managing wildlife and became a Monterey County Deputy Sheriff. After retiring from the Sheriffs Office nearly 30 years later in 2006, he went into business to make Appalachian Moonshine right, but on the Left Coast. He took a brewery course at U.C. Davis and read numerous books about distilling spirits. In mid-2008, production was started using a 60 gallon cooper pot still made by Colonel Vaughn Wilson of Arkansas. Craig formed Fogs End Distillery and began production of California Moonshine (Spirits distilled from corn) and Monterey Rye (Spirits distilled from grain).

In 2009, he worked harder to refine his no-cook sour mash whiskey method. The resultant product became more flavorful and smoother. He also began experimenting with American Oak, French Oak, and Hungarian Oak to flavor his Monterey Rye. A proprietary formula of Oak and toast levels was subsequently developed for his Monterey Rye. If you have anything of value or import, be sure to take it with you when you park your RV. No matter what the design is of your motorhome, thieves are capable of breaking and entering. Exercise Fire Safety: If you choose to smoke in your motorhome, remember to use ashtrays. Never leave a lit cigarette on a table or flat surface where it could roll onto furniture. Crossing Borders: Remember that if you are entering or exiting either Mexico or Canada, see to it that all laws are being obeyed, and that there are no illegal substances on board. As a guest of other countries, you and your vehicle are subject to search as you enter. These border crossings exercise Zero Tolerance policies. If any illegal drugs are discovered in the motorhome, you can be criminally charged and the coach, along with all assets in the vehicle, can be seized.

Swing Clearance: Always be aware of the overhang past the rear wheels. You should know how much distance is required to clear this overhang and not strike anything as your turn.

Backing Up: No matter how skilled or experienced the driver of a motorhome is, its always a good safety practice to have someone stand at the driver side rear corner to guide the driver while backing up. There are so many obstacles that could cause problems when operating a motorhome in reverse, that an extra set of eyes is very helpful.

Overhead Clearance: It is imperative that the driver of an RV be very familiar with how high the clearance allotted for that vehicle is. Great care must be taken when pulling under gasoline station canopies, building overhangs, bridges, tree branches, fast food restaurant drive-thru lanes, etc.

1. Dont skip the basics. After a lifetime of maintaining oral healthcare habits, one may be tempted to skip now and again, but the basic rules still apply brush twice a day with a fluoride-enhanced toothpaste, floss once a day, rinse with mouthwash, and maintain regular dental visits as instructed by the dentist.

2. Get a discount. Organizations like the American Association for Retired People (AARP) offer dental plans for elderly adults that act as a discount program. The discounts can be used in tandem with dental insurance, though, for maximum savings.

5. Care for dentures. Dentures and dental bridges should receive the same level of care as regular teeth. Brush inside and out daily and put in water each evening. Use an appropriate denture power/paste or baking soda for cleaning. Remember to brush and floss any remaining natural teeth and gums. If the denture becomes broken, chipped, doesnt fit properly or is causing pain, see your dentist for adjustments.

A new study from NIH researchers has found that quitting smoking can improve heart health even if the quitter gains a little weight, which underscores the importance of putting a stop to smoking. In spite of this, the researchers found that participants who stopped smoking maintained their lower risk of cardiovascular disease.
